screensaver password

my system is having windows98 firstedition, when i tryed to change my screensaver password it is asking for old,new & confirm passwords. but i oserved in so many systems but i never find this old password asking. even i didnt know this old password.now iam notable to chnang that password,
what should i do, pl. help me.
