Script to Delete Files once an action is taken

By alicai ·
I am implementing a scanning system at my organization and I am looking for a script that would delete files once the 'send to' action was taken. When we send the files to be indexed and uploaded to our document management system, I want those files to be deleted. We want to do this so that the managers for the areas can review any remaining files to determine why they were not uploaded to our document management system.

I have been told that this request is not possible, but I am hoping that they are incorrect.

If you have any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

It is possible - what you could do

is to add an additional item to the "SendTo" menu that performs the particular actions that you want. The SendTo menu is user specific and if you navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\username\SendTo for XP, you'll see what's in it.

You will still need to develop a script that does what you want, though and then right-drag it into the Send To folder and choose Create Shortcut Here.

Possible, yes. But not easy...

Neil :)
