I’m going to have to rename many workstations in our domain in the next couple of months. We’re in a 2k3 environment with all user workstations running XP Pro. I would like to have a script that will:
1. Query AD to see if the name i want to rename it to already exists.
2. Rename the PC to the name of my choosing
3. Reboot the PC
Obviously, this needs to have as little user intervention as possible. I would greatly appreciate any help that anyone can give me. Thanks!
