SCSI 160

By picturethat ·
I have a adaptec 160 64bit card on an XP box with a scanner attached and the OS sees 7 scanners all at ID 4 but Lun 1 lun 2 lun 3 etc. Any Ideas? The driver is the one off the site for xp.

Do you have it plugged into the wide bus or narrow bus? It should be on the narrow bus, you may need a cable with an external 50 pin backplane connector. Make sure all connections are clean and are terminated correctly ( you must terminate backplane connector when unused). The multiple devices in device config indicates duplicate ID settings or ID 7, unplug all but the scanner and rescan bus for ID. The driver and OS are not an element when in SCSI BIOS config, they are not loaded yet.

There is no 50 pim connector on this adapter, only a 68pin HD.

There is nothing wrong with the hardware or the driver.
The problem is in XP.
This was done by another worker, and I did not get a full explanation, but it was a problem in the way the OS recognized the scanner.
Am busy, hope I can get back with more details.
Regards, Chris
