SCSI Harddrive problem in Windows 2000

By cmcdonald1 ·
I installed an old Adaptec 2940 UW SCSI Controller in a test server running WIndows 2000 Advanced Server with 3 devices. A CD-Rom and 2 harddrives. The CD is on the 8 bit channel and the HD's on the 16. All drives are found and accessable through the SCSI BIOS Utility, however in Win2K only the CD-Rom is present. Any Suggestions?

SCSI Harddrive problem in Windows 2000

I am assuming that you have added these drives to the server. Go into Administrative Tools, choose Disk Manager, and set the partitions and format the drives. Win2K won't see the drives until the signatures are written to them in the Disk Manager. Good Luck

I forgot to add.... Win 2000 Disk manager does not see the harddrives... It shows the CD-Rom that is SCSI, but the two harddrives are not listed in the physical disk window...
