SCSI/RAID Host controller Issue upon XP Upgrade

by lara_cy . Updated 19 years, 8 months ago

Hey there,

I just recently got a new laptop specs:

HP DV5000
AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile
2.19 GHz, 2GB RAM

Everything was working fine, till i upgraded from Win XP Home to Win XP Pro SP2 and now i’ve noticed two issues:

1) When i playback MP3 ( on wimap and WMP) the sound skips every so often. Also playing back a video, using VLC or WMP skips a little too.

I then opened up Device Manager and found:

2) Exclamation mark by SCSI/RAID Host Controller. In properties it says that “Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because there is a duplicate device already running in the system. (Code 42).

UPDATE: I just unintalled DAEMON TOOLS and SCSI/RAID host controller isn’t in my device manager anymore, so that’s not an issue. However my Audio still skips..
