When I search for Files or Folders, my Win2K Pro workstation gets the following error:
Program Error: Explorer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created.
1.) I can’t find the error log. It doesn’t show up in event viewer. I don’t see any obvious logs in the root directory.
2.) This happens most of the time, but not ALL of the time. Sometimes the search actually works.
3.) About half the time I have to also restore my active desktop after this error occurs.
4.) When this happens, I sometimes have seen an error that the shell shut down unexpectedly.
I have tried running Windows repair from the CD, and it did not fix the problem. I have SP3 installed. It’s a real pain to not be able to find files… I would appreciate any help you can give me….
