Search for the long lost GUID

Curious…
Does anyone know of a library, list or repository of GUIDs and their corresponding software?

When a program is installed, there is typically a GUID number recorded in the registry and/or the InstallShield Installation folder. Being that every GUID is unique for every installed program, and the number is the same every time the program is installed and on every system, you’d think there would be a global reference somewhere.

The one I’m currently trying to identify starts with {E1A5E00A-A2EF-…}. If anyone has a clue, I’d appreciate the info.
