Second Harddisc doesn't wakeup

By ramifree ·
After I replace my Second harddisc SATA 250G (NTFS format)
When I put the Computer on Stand-by and turn it on again, the computer "WindowsXP Pro" doesnt recognise the second new Harddisc,
I just dont see it in manage Screen,or in my computer.
My first IDE Hdisc is Fat32 format
Why I must always to restart ? to let the second disk to appear again

Stop putting the unit into Stand By as this is a known problem with no workaround for at the moment.

You'll also get better performance if you change the format of the FAT 32 partition to NTFS as you don't get the Wasted Space that you get with a FAT 32 Partition on a NTFS Partition. To do this use the following command from the Run lineconvert C: /fs:ntfs where C is the partition that you want to convert you'll get faster performance and XP will work better unless you need the FAT 32 Partition for some program that will not run on a NTFS partition.

I had a similar problem with a SATA drive, sometimes it would be recognized, other times not. Did not seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. I sent the drive back to Western Digital, under warranty, got a replacement and it has worked fine ever since. I did run disk diagnostics on the drive, found no problems, however occasionally XP PRO would find a problem with it on boot and run a disk scan on it.
