secret clearance

By mtolab ·
I have been going through an investigation for secret clearance for about 1 1/2 years. it closed twice and adjudicator opened again. not it's still running. does anyone know if this is a bad sign? or is it common to have your clearance re-opened for more investigation?

thanks for all the help

It can take a long time, since it requires interviewing individuals who may or may not be easy to locate. At this stage, you should be able to ask them specifically if there are issues that you can assist in resolving. Who are you going through for it? I had a POC in my office when they were doing mine, so got status updates easily, and they acted on my behalf to hurry it along.

Possibly a new investigator

The turn over of personel can cause the process to be closed and then opened again when a new individual is assigned. That and the unavailablity of persons they need to interveiw. Once the process is completed, the continuity of the clearence will become easier and quicker.
