    Securing dekstop – Legacy systems

    How do you protect legacy systems ? A visitor that comes with unpatched sytem, outdated virus definition …etc . . I have a network that I give internet access and I have no control over what kind of OS, app, ..they are running. any advice ? I was just reading about VMWare ACE ? Did anybody implement a scusseful policy or some layer of protection ?

      I use Cisco ACS which does not allow unpatched, unguarded machines on the network until they are up to date with AV, security patches, etc.

      Plus its hueristic in nature not signature based. Has stopped ZOTOB dead in its tracks before Trend got a signature out.

      Do a search at http://www.it.com on virtualization. You will be able to see all the options layed out in front. VMware is great by IMHO.
