    Securing folders in Win 98

    Locked

    by the_duf ·

Is there any way to password protect a folder in Windows 98. I know that the Operating System itself doesn’t offer this feature, but was wondering if any 3rd party utility does ???

I have tried several Security programs which have this feature. I recommend going to download.com and trying a couple, the features vary along with resource usage.

You can perform this task by using WIN ZIP,creating a folder with the files and password protecting the folder.

The following sites offer third party software to secure folders
      1)www.iosoftware.com
      Secure Folder
      2)www.globetech.com
      Safe Folder
      3)www.halogram.com
Also you can use WINZIP 8.0 to password protect folders

As far as I know there is no utility that does this. I have tried looking for them too, but it is no use. The only way is to zip them up and password protect them in a zip file, but even so you can delete the zip file without the password.

      Hope that helps.
