Security Event Log Full

Some of my XP pro users are having this issue.
Cannot logon security log full must be adminsitrator to login.
I log in clear the log and change it to overwrite events as needed. Next login it changes back to Overwrite events older than 7 days, so the log fills up again and cannot log in. Once user has this problem every day.

Any suggestions?

I’m just guessing, but have you tried making the user an administrator, making the change while logged in as them, then restricting them again?

HI,

Is this computer a member of AD? There may be group policies enforcing the default logging options. In this case, you would need to speak to your network administrator to have this resolved. The prior answer is incorrect, because logging settings are not user specific, they are machine specific.

Also, why are your logs filling so quickly? If only one user is accessing the box, it seems a bit much.
