Security on Win98

By clarkietii ·
Hi all,

I have a problem and need help here. How can a secure my control panel on Win98 to bar users from manupilating anything from it. Get people who change programes, time and instal their dirty stuff and it kills me and my computer. My computers are in a network but without any logon servers.

Lock down Windows 98

Setup your Windows 98 using POLEDIT. This program can be found on the Windows 98 CD. You can lock down particluar users so they do not have access to things like the control panel.

Create a user ID for yourself, set the registry to MustBeValidated = 1. No other people can login unless they got your password.

I think it is about time you upgrade, or get a new computer. Windows 98 has to be one of the worst operating systems ever that microsoft ever built. I would recommend upgrading.
