I am migrating users and data from an old domain into a new W2k3 domain – the users and groups have been migrated across into the new domain and there is a two way trust between the old domain and the new domain.
I am now adding groups from the old domain into the security of folders within the new domain. The groups are recognised as, for example, Domain User (old_domain\domain user) – however, after a couple of minutes this changes to Domain User (new_domain\domain user).
This results in my having two or more groups of Domain User (new_domain\domain user) with different permissions.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how I may prevent this happening ??
