Locked

Security policy Win2k Advanced Server

By thi_ca ·
We have removed all users including the Administrator from the "log on locally" and "log on Remotely" policy for the local machine. We then rebooted (mistake) and now are locked out from loging in. Is there Any way to solve this problem with out re-installing the OS. We can log into the Recovery Console which seems to work fine.

Any input to this question would be great. thank you.

I don't know if this will work, but here is a suggestion. Try using the NTRIGHTS.EXE tool from the Resource Kit. NTRIGHTS can modify the logon user rights used.
Here is a Technet article, Q279664, on NTRIGHTS:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q279664
(please remove any spaces)

So, boot into Recovery Console, and run NTRIGHTS. It is a command prompt tool, so it might work. The syntax to add the Everyone group to the Log On Locally right should be:

NTRIGHTS -u Everyone +r SeInteractiveLogonRight

hope this helps
