Security Templates Information

I am studying for the W2k Pro exam with intent to take the server one in the future. i need to find a simple descriptin of security templates from which i can look into deeper. Inparticular compatws.inf and hisecws and securews. I have searched for a suitable explatain but have been unable to find anything. Any ideas where to look.
