    Locked

    by manish_rit21 ·

Do you know about any software for Red hat Linux which is freely available on Internet from which we can restrict some of our users from using Internet.
I want that I should connect my Linux Box between our WatchGuard (Router) and Switch and separte users have there own username and password. If you have any Idea please tell me in detail how to do it.

    Regards,
    Manish Anand.

It’s called a FIREWALL… which comes with redhat, you just have to install it and configure it… for 20 points? I’ll tell you to look at your installation cd or online through redhats tech support forum.

Of course that solved “The guys question”.. put the setup cd in, boot to it, add the option for a firewall!… There’s nothing much to it.

I don’t really think that you solved the guys question, you could look at something like squid and acl’s, then make it so that only your proxy server can access the net through your firewall.
