    Security update using MBSA

    I have windows 2008 system and i installed MBSA 2.1 and run that program.It gives report some security patches are missing.I opened the “result details” tab and downloaded the security patches.It is downloaded as a cab file.there is no .exe fine and .inf file to install. How to install the .cab file.please help me.

      And is it configures as a Windows Update Services Server?

      If it is it’s attempting to allow WUSS to hand out the required Updates I think you’ll find. 😉

          Well then how did you get these CAB Files?

          If you used the Standard Update where you selected Custom Install over the Microsoft Update Service you would be getting the Install Files. If you went tot he M$ Download Center and downloaded the Individual KB Files you would have got the install Files.

          I’m just at a loss as to how you got the CAB Files as MBSA doesn’t download updates it just tells you what is required.

      You have to install WSUS in your network for Automatic Update or have to manually update all computers by running Microsot Update in each and every computer. 🙂 :0 😉 :0 :0 :0 :0
