I don't know of the book stores in India, but I would suggest going to www.oreilly.com and doing a search on sed or awk. The best book is sed & awk, 2nd Edition. It is $35 and covers everything about sed and awk + some nawk, fgrep and a few other tools that are commonly used with sed and/or awk. They will deliver to anywhere.

You may also be able to download free documentation from www.gnu.org for gawk (GNU awk, same difference) and sed. This, however, won't be as detailed as the book.
Hope you get what you are looking for.

I agree with the first response. The O'Reilly book on Sed and Awk is by far the best that I have seen and read. UNIX Shell Programming by Kochan and Wood does a decent job as well. It will also serve as a good reference for UNIX scripting.

Good luck,

Try to get your hands on some old NIIT training material if possible (from the Advanced Unix training course)
They've covered some pretty good ground in awk and sed.
That'll gety you started.
O'Reilly press books are avaiable at far below the $ prices in India.
If in fact they have an indian edition of the book.
