Send a console command from vbscript

By vbsgeek ·
I am trying to write some administrative/install scripts for our Netware 5.1 enviroment and am looking for a way to be able to send a console command to a Netware box from a script. I know it can be done with Onsite Admin Pro as well as other GUI tools.

I want to be able to use a script to stop/start nlms, start up .ncf files, etc as well as copy in new code.

Thanks!

Most people use Cron. It definitely is not full proof. I tried to unload Groupwise with it and it din't work. However for other programs seems to work well.
Several Cron Tid's, check out 2939440

Then you would write your scripts in "Perl for NetWare" and run on Apache. SeeTID2966865.
Or "Netbasic for Netware", you should find both on your SYS volume. We would be interesed in seeing what you can do, if you will share.

Let me clarify. I need to be able to send a console command from a script or batch file running on a workstation to the servers listed in a feedfile. We already have install scripts that work if they are run from the server console, but that does nothing for remote installs or updates for us. I'm not looking for ways to do this where it is initiated on the server, it has to be initiated from a workstation. Thanks
