It depends on your e-mail client. If you have Outlook, then should be be able to design your Message form with an attachment.

Go to Tools, Design Form, and select the Message from from the Standard Forms Library.
You can then use Insert File, ifthe attachment will always be the same, or you can attach a macro to the form that will allow you to select one.

Good luck!

if the web server is Microsoft IIS 4.0 and above, you could possibly make use of the CDONTS components, with active server pages.
of course, you would also need to store the intended files onto a location that the web server has access to.
never use Apache or other, so only know it can be done on IIS and ASP.

Disclaimer: This is speculation, as I haven't tried it. And it's just a sketch of a possible method, for what it's worth.

First of all, a mailto link as such can't do what you're asking. There's no provision in the address specification for attachments.

Here's an approach that might work for clients running on Windows platforms with some MAPI client software installed. Create a Windows Scripting file that actually does the emailing. (It would use the same scripting methods to send email as those notorious worms, like ILOVEYOU.) Have the clients download the script into a specific disk location. Make your link a call to a javascript function that invokes the script file.

Anyone have a better idea?

Groupwise also offers the ability to customize your forms. (I'm trying to remember what it's called: something (Form?) Designer. It's a utility separate from the Groupwise Mail Client.)

You should be able to apply the principles to your case. Good luck!

I went and checked out Novell's web sites. Here is what I found.

It used to be that the View Designer was bundled with the Groupwise Client (before 5.x).

With Groupwise 5, Novell switched to a 32-bit model and moved the View Designer to the software developer's kit. (The SDK can be downloaded: http://developer.novell.com/ndk/gwsdk.htm)

The file you're interested in is called gw55vd01.exe

Have fun!
