Sending emails but recipients never receive

By MissTech ·
Periodically emails will be received, but 99% of the time, they are not. Emails show up in Sent folder and no error messages are being received. This happens in Outlook 2002 and OE6 running WinXP. This is a GoDaddy pop email account with outgoing authentication using port 80. RoadRunner is ISP.

Steps I have taken:

Using GoDaddy webmail, recipients receive my emails so GoDaddy says it is not their outgoing mail server.

Replied to a GoDaddy support email using Outlook and they received, but next email sent to 3 people never received. Tried with new message and replying.

Using test account settings in Outlook states sending and receiving okay.

Configured a Road Runner email account in Outlook and sent emails were received. Also, have another email account configured in OE6 and it works fine.

Have turned off Norton email scanner. Also used msconfig startup and removed all Symantec (Norton, Ghost, Systemworks) entries along with CA Spam & Spyware programs.

Turned off WinXp firewall.

Change in last 3 weeks was install of I-Tunes, so I uninstalled. Checking to see if there were any MS Updates installed.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - this one has me completely stumped.

Edited to Add: Forgot to mention that I have checked to make sure their are no filters or rules setup in Outlook. This is the first time Outlook has been used and configured with a email address.

Sounds as if you're being blocked at the other end.

If emails are being moved to the Sent Items folder, they have been sent. Sounds more like your email address is being blocked at the other end because it's being relayed through RoadRunner, or perhaps landing in their junk/spam folders because of the same.

You say you're using GoDaddy as your incoming POP email account, but your ISP is RoadRunner. For outbound email, since some ISP's will not forward email, you may need to set it to use the RoadRunner SMPT account to actually send it so there's no relay involved. Even though you think you're sending through GoDaddy's authentication, chances are RoadRunner is involved somewhere. After all, it's their server you're connected to.

I have tried sending to her husband, her other email address that is setup in OE6 and myself. Not one of us receives the email and they are not ending up in Spam/Junk folders.

I tried leaving incoming server as GoDaddy and changing outgoing to RR, but when I do that Outlook cannot log into RR outgoing. Reason is GoDaddy wants full email address for user name (nadine@something.com) and RR wants just the user name (nadine).

Originally, this email was setup in GoDaddy to forward to her RR email address. RR address was setup in OE6 as a second identity and used RR's incoming and outgoing servers. This is when she realized she had the issue. I stopped the forwarding on GoDaddy's end and then removed the second identity in OE6 and set it up in Outlook.

Forgot to mention that I have checked to make sure their are no filters or rules setup in Outlook. This is the first time Outlook has been used and configured with a email address.
