I’ve just set up a Windows 2000 server with 2 nic cards. One is hooked up to a dsl router w/the right ip and one to the internal lan. I set up DHCP, DNS, and the Remote routing service. Plus i’m using proxy. Everyone can get to the internet justfine using proxy. However, this is the problem.
No one can access their Internet mail. They use the following address to reach their mail
mail.nameofbusiness.com. When i try to ping this address from the server that’s routing i get a: HOST UNREACHEABLE reply. It seems that the routing server can not even reach this mail server and no POP nor SMTP messages are getting by. Is it the remote and routing service in windows 2000?
PLEASE HELP!!!
thanks in advance
