Seperate nics for office net work and broadband router

by r_gonzalez55 . Updated 21 years, 9 months ago

I have a small ofice network set up with a MS 2000 server & 10 W.S.’s using 10.x.x.x PNAs. I have set up a wireless router to the Internet and connected selective XP and 98 workstations (3) to it using a seperate nic for that network which is 192.168.x.x. I used secure setings on the router i.e. mac filtering, dhcp limits, WEP,and changed the original ip address of the router etc. and have A.V. and Firewall software on only the workstations connected to the Internet. How protected from intrusion, viruses, etc. is my server and other workstations on 10.x.x.x??? I didn’t want to put A.V. software on my server. Always had bad experiences w/ them. Is there certain ports on the router I shuld definetly be blocking????
