Server 03 td and XPpro Latop

We went from an SBS2003 PDC to a Server03 STD. Domain name stayed the same. One user account in question has a problem; can not access network shares and can not access the DC’s.
The account and password are the same in AD and the laptop. The laptop name was changed three times and added in AD; no change.
The laptop can see other servers/pcs on the domain just not the two dc’s nor can the two dc’s see the laptop. The laptop can not be added to the domain, it reports access denied. The laptop has never been on the domain.
