I have a client who uses a 2k server to manage their roaming profiles. The issue the user is having I believe is related to the roaming profile being corrupt.
The user is unable to properly navigate the internet using IE7. This issue follows the user no matter what system they go to, to include new PC?s.
All users in this environment have to authenticate against Watchguard in order to access the web. This is a standard password which all of them use.
The user can partially access some sites, such as https, to include the home page. However when attempting to log into the home page using credentials, the IE sits there without attempting to update.
Now if I log in to the same system as the domain admin, I have no issues at all. To include being prompted by watchguard to provide the required password.
I?ve had the user log off of her system, deleted the local profile through the admin login. I?ve then accessed the roaming profile folder and deleted the cookies.
I?ve also tried just cleaning up the internet options.
None of these steps have worked. I?m at a loss, and am heading back to this client tomorrow. None of the guys on my team seems to know how to resolve it.
My last step is going to be to rebuild the users roaming profile. I had planned on renaming the network folder, deleting the local profile, then having her log in to her local system and then log out to update. (Yes this is my first roaming profile management client. Oddly enough all of my previous companies had local profiles only).
If anyone has an answer or corrective actions to my final steps, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
