Server 2003 computers dropping of domain

By chris.lambert ·
Hi All,

Wonder if anyone has come across this one.

I have just set up a new network. The domain Server is Win Server 2003 and all machines are XP Pro.

For some reason one of the XP machines keeps losing access to the domain server. Everything else is fine (email, net access and everything else). I have looked at the machine and cannot see a problem with it.

I'm sure this si just something I am over looking, so would be greatful of any advice.

Cheers

Chris

Power management

by jonathan.squire In reply to Server 2003 computers dro ...

This one's been annoying for the last month or so, domain has been up for a long time without issue and without change except WU so I wonder if it could have been a Windows update that has broken it?

I found that the 'allow computer to turn off power' check box was checked for my servers' NICs and I recall on initial build looking at detail at all of the settings . Can't see that it would be a good idea to allow domain server's NICs to go down at anytime...
