I installed sp2 for my server2003 dns system and after it rebooted the tcpip service wouldnt start and the dhcp server stopped. In manage your server all the roles ( DNS, File Sharing, Active Directory) wouldnt open saying it was not existant, made by a newer version of mmc or not sufficient rights. Is there not a safe update for server 2003?
