Server ABC was consolidated to server FPNT. An alias with the old server name was created so clients wouldn’t need to make any mapping changes. All works fine, but when the client try to access a share in the old server (ABC) message: “A duplicate name exists on the network” comes up. If client changes the mapping to point to the new server (FPNT) then the share becomes available….Please help…
