Server Room Temperature

Well, I guess you want opinions

You know it's too hot when everything starts failing.. Just kidding. Anything in the 80's, 90's or above is way too hot.

I start becoming concerned if my temperature is above 71.

The Ideal temperature is somewhere between 63 and 68 degrees.

I'm sure it can handle it cooler, but then you'll be freezing anybody who comes in.

I really think it's better to keep it cooler, in the mid 60's or cooler.

Of course, that's MY opinion, and how Irun my data center. Some of the folks think I have it too cool at times, but then I'm trying to accommodate the computers, and not necessarily a lot of people since it's pretty much me and the machines in there.

I've worked in data centers that were entirely too hot and the equipment failed as a result. I know this for certain.

Anyway, I'm responsible for whatever happens, and if I have to make a choice, I'll error on the side of being too cool.

For the most part I keep it alwaysbetween 63 and 68 and if it starts getting warmer I'll get the Air Conditioning folks in here to fix the machine..

hope this helps

when your nipple gets hard is a good temp (that like upper 60's) you also need good air circulation. it doesn't help when a fan it hitting the server. it needs to **** over the fan. dangerous is when it's hotter in the server room than the room outside. server room should have independant ac's

Hello Snappy

In my server room before it was proper built We had temperatures above 35 Europeean degrees that is deffently too MUCH, make a good solution make the air come from the Floor, have your racks closed from all sites with a doors and so on. then you will have a solutions where all the servers are running well, NOT OVER 15 DEGREE CELCIUS..
