Service pack 1 and Windows 2003

By sushagadamo ·
After installing Service pack 1 on Windows 2003 server Internet connection sharing option was not seen anymore. Service pack was required to stabilise mssearch.exe i.e. Indexing service for sql-2000. Had to uninstall the service pack.
Why such a thing should happen and what is the solution?

I have just had a very quick look on Microsoft's site and found this: maybe it will help.

Good luck

it's amazing how many people follow monkey-softs miss teachings.
first of all, who in their rite mind would put sp1 for server on a perfectly good working system.
it is sp2 from xp.
server has IIS which is called by monkey-soft (internet infoormation service, apply miss named on purpose,
it is internet information server) installed on it and running.
when you introduce sp1 which is sp2,
it causes IIS to tunnel out as a protected tunnel.
this tunnel logs you in to m-soft in many areas.
one being MSN Messenger.
the other would be a pipeline to the manufacturer of said machine.
you can not truly close it once done.
also when hackers want in to a server they have a direct rout.
it allows direct access to all passwords users and if you have outlook installed, it bypasses SSH and goes direct to Drive B, I know you say there is no drive B.
think again.
this is the area of slack spooling on your hard drive all files are un-encrypted.
don't do it.
you don't need this to network
or IIS.
