set MTU for adapter RRAS

By jan.hertog ·
How to set the MTU size for an VPN adapter configured in RRAS W2K. The microsoft technet article Q120642 describes the MTU setting for an physical interface. The defined on-demand-dial and VPN adapters are generated every time the RRAS service starts. (\Tcpip\Parameters\adapters\<ID&gt Every thime the have an different <ID>.
I want to set an different MTU setting for an specific interface.
Does anyone have tackled this problem before.

set MTU for adapter RRAS

Just to make sure, the full Registry path you are using for the MTU value is:
KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\[The ID for the adapter]\ ?
I found a couple other articles that list this same entry. That should be the right one. It is strange that the Registry entry would be changing itself.
Did you try the value EnablePMTUDiscovery = 1? The same TechNet article says that this entry will cause the RRAS box to detect the MTU size. I don't know if this will work in your situation, but I guess it couldn't hurt.

Good luck
