This is being done on saturday because I (GASP!) had to look some things up to be sure that it is even there anymore to do!
Stippelling!!, this is the step taken here at this point. Stippelling is the creating; activating and adjustting of placews in computers to engage and lots of other stuff to get something to work – IBM’s Left-Margin Stuff basically eliminated a lot of these steps and thuis came the IBM Compatable world.
Today this is primarily taken care of with the selection and running of one of three languages; BASICS, AURIS(the Oracle language) or the Military version of BASICS, BASIC;: or this is taken care of with a system language like GWBasic, DOS 1.39 or other DOS language systems or SYSmac – I know very little about SYSmac. What happens is that the languages’ words are instruction sets for the stippels these coupled to the Stlye Manual allows it to be engaged and stimulate response from the stuff that is put in later.
The stuff put in later has to be put in accordding to a specific type of instructions so that the stippels can provide the stimulus required for whatever you’ve put in and it responds as you desire.
