Setting IE proxy for users

By bdavids ·
I would like to set up a logon script that configures the proxy settings for each users desktop (in IE) on NT4. What will the script look like?

All the internet settings are reg hackable. So what you will need to do is set up a script that calls a reg file.

call the reg file proxy_settings.reg
file contents will be:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Internet Settings]
"Proxy Server" = "proxy server address:port"

Script will look like this:
@echo off
path proxy_settings.reg

Thats it!
Good Luck

I've tried the suggestion - it doesn't work. To be more explicit - the script will reside on the server (domain controller NT4). When a user logs on to the network, it should set the browser(on the users desktop)to enable the proxy settings and point the browser to the proxy.
