Setting up a password for users to print

By chuckthorne ·
I have some computers in a public access area that I want to password the print function. The machines are logging in on the local machine and not my domain controller. However I can set up a group on the DC if I need to. Anyone no where I can find information on setting this up?

Best solution seems to me:
* Create task which does a 'RunAs' logon, and make sure this terminates within a few minutes.
* Only the userid (or group) for RunAs has printing rights, the normal userid not. (Can be done through ACL on the printer object).
* The RunAs userid has a password.

If this is a shared printer just restrict using permissions. Otherwise make it into a network printer so you can accomplish this.
