Setting up hardware profiles

By b_laatz ·
I am working on a laptop that travels between two buildings. One building has DHCP enabled, and the other has static IPs. Is it possible to configure one hardware profile to reatain a static IP, and another to use DHCP?

Thanks for your help

Right Click on My Computer, Properties, Hardware, hardware profiles. Add Building 2 profile. Profile1 will have current settings. When rebooting, select the 2nd profile. Change the settings when you've logged in. You will have 2 separate profiles. Saves lots of reconfiguring.

I tried that and the NIC card would retain the previous settings. I found a progam called Multinetwork Manager by Globesoft ( www.globesoft.com ), that handles this situation very well. Thanks for responding...
