Setting Up Network Printer

By hmansaray ·
I've just secured a HP Laserjet 4050 to server as a network printer in my office. The touble for me is that, I've used to share printers attached directly to a particular printer but in this case I will like to attched it on a RJ-45 connection point. What steps I'm I to take so that, it can be seen by the server and and the other workstations print on it through the server

My operating server platform is Win 2000

Setting Up Network Printer

You will need some form of Print Server, either internal or external, attached to the printer. You can get them from just about anyone. Once the printer server is attached it needs be configured using whatever tool came with it (ie - HP JetDirect cards use JetAdmin or you can telnet directly to the printer server). Once you have the IP address you can set up a print queue on the server that points to the IP address. If you have any other questions let me know
