Setting up RAS

By oflahertym ·
A remote user must connect from a home office through a corporate telephone system to a single machine which will have a telephone connection what are the hardware requirements for this? This machine will be the RAS Server and they do not require any connection to the corporate network?

Sounds like all you need is a point to point connection between your user and a PC.

Two modems 56K with appropriate P2P protocol and, if needed, remote control software (like PC Anywhere).

If greater speed is needed and budget allow, you cango ISDN which will require ISDN link at both ends (2 normal lines) and a router at each ends. A network card will be needed on both the PC and the user's PC to communicate with the routers.

Good luck.
