setting up win 98

in setting up win 98 on a formated hard drive, setup stops after it does scandisk and this message appears. help! what do i do?
Standard Mode: Fault in MS Dos extender.
EC=1a94 CS=0053 IP=2811 AX=fbdo BX=e160 CX=ffff
DX=ffff
Standard Mode. Bad Fault in M S Dos extender.
Fault: 000d Stack Dump: 0384 0000 0070
Raw Fault Frame: EC=1a94 IP=244b CS=0053 FL= 3013
SP=00f2 SS=004b
any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you, Bob

The error is caused by a number of possible causes that is noted in Microsoft Knowledge base article Q827239

One option is to check the memory modules to make sure they are compatible and that you place higher valued memory in the banks before the smaller modules.

I apoligize for the error in the Article number the correct number is (Q87239)
