settings for pop3

i have a windows server 2000 a small network, i want to retrive my pop3 email to the workstation is there any software or any thing that i can do to retrive my pop3 email on work station instead of the server

Firstly, what mail software are you using? Outlook / Outlook Express, Lotus Notes.....?
I will assume that you are using Outlook (or express) and that you have an internet connection that will allow the POP3 traffic. If you are not the network admin, then you will need to check with him/her if you can do this.
Goto Tools?Accounts, then click on Add. This will start up the Wizard that will guide you through the process. ebar in mind you will need the following information to complete the process:
1) Your POP e-mail address
2) The login id and password for your POP account
3) both the POP and SMTP server addresses for the account. (If you don't intend sending mail from the account, you can use the pop address for both.

Follow the wizard through to completion, and you should be able to retrieve your messages. These messages will come into your inbox with all your other mail, so you would be advised to setup a a separate folder for the POP mail, and then create a rule to move the messages into this folder when they arrive.
