The “illegal option” could ieither be because there’s no space between /D:CD001 and /L:D1, or more likely because D1 is an invlaid drive name.

“Bad command or file name” is occuring either because the file doesn’t exist in the specified folder, or because there’s no space between C:\CDROM\MSCDEX.EXE and /D:MSCD001.

Why would you need to load mscdex.exe twice anyway?

What OS are you using? Any flavor of windows? If so, do yourself a favor and go to http://www.bootdisk.com. You can downloada boot disk with cd-rom support.

This error message will also show up if the CD-ROM is attached to the sound card, check the drivers for the card and make sure that they are installed.

It doesn’t appear that the system is seeing your cd-rom. If your cd is connected to your secondary ide controller go into your cmos settings and make sure that the secondary ide controller is set to auto detect. then make sure your cd-rom is listed

        Happy Holidays to all
