setup exchange2003 as pop3 and smtp

how to setup exchange 2003 server as a pop3 and an smtp server so outlook clients can connect over the internet..as in to host exchange 2003 as a mail server to clients.

after you install exchange and setup mailboxes...

go to services (Control Panel -> admin tools -> services)

set the Microsoft POP3 service to automatic...

open up exchange manager, click on Servers -> Protocols -> POP3 and enable the Virtual POP3 server

and your set.

I tried what you mentioned above. My client (in this case outlook 2003) can send via smtp (through address mail.steyrarms.com), but I can't receive pop3 (also, mail.steyrarms.com). I added a pointer (mail.steyrarms.com) in DNS to point to the exchange server. The POP3 service is started and the default POP3 Virtual server is started.

All testing is being done with a remote client. Any ideas would be great!
