Sever performance

Hi, i have a compaq proliant ML530,p111,Dual processor(800mhz each) and 1GB Ram standalone Database server,running win2000 Advanced server and oracle 8i database.I,m getting rather frustrating speeds from this machine,if i upgraded the ram to 2 GB would i get better speeds?
