Shake to minimize or restore all other windows

By Healer ·
This feature does not seem to work on my Windows 7. I wonder if I have mucked up any settings.

I have installed W7 on the System that supports, hardware assisted virtualisation.

For some reason I still couldn't get it work. My computer doesn't have hardware asisted virtualisation though. Is it one of the factors?

The web page you suggested doesn't give me extra information. How do I check if my aero theme is on? I could have disabled the aero theme to improve efficiency.

Open a couple of windows

and then open an Explorer window. Don't have them full screen. Give the Explorer window a shake. You have to give a good shake sometimes.

From the link that I supplied.

Note
Some windows, such as open dialog boxes, cannot be minimized using Shake.

If you have just installed and your background is a fish you are using Aero. Vista and Windows 7 uses Aero as default.

1. Right-click on the desktop and click on Personalize.

2. In the right hand pane you will see Aero Themes and if you scroll down you will see Basic and High Contrast Schemes.

They install the Aero Theme as default. But, if the graphics card doesn't support Aero, all you get is the colors and background image. The full power of Aero with see-through windows and scrolling through them, isn't even available as an option.

I installed Win7 on a 5 year old machine with onboard graphics and all I got was the fish and color scheme. I dropped in an external graphics card and got the full capabilities of Aero.
