Check to see if they're on the same subnet as your server. And make sure that their computer workgroup name set in the network panel is the same name as your domain or workgroup. Win95/98 does not have the flexibility of NT workstation. It can only login the domain that is set in the network contral panel. If you didn't know its under the identication tab of the network panel. I hope that helps. Also check the box in the properties of client for microsoft network to login into a domain and typethe domain name there too so you dont' hvae to type the domain everytime you login in.
2)Install the Client for Microsoft Network. configure the client logon as the NT domain 3)Change the Workgroup Name to the domain name in the Indentification tap of Network Neighbour(This may the Window 98 Client able to see the PDC) 4)Attention: Some information about folder sharing. If you want to creat a share folder for Window 98 Client. Please make sure the folder name follow the rules xxxxx.xxx(mostly 8.3 rules) If you create a share name longer. Window 98 Client dont able to see the share folder.
If you can logon to the Domain, but can't access the shares, consider this...
It sounds like either your drive mappings may not be aple to resolve the host name to an IP address, or you need to setup "File and Printer Sharing"
1. edit \windows\hosts. Add IP address followed by a "tab" then HOST NAME. Save and try another logon.
2. Right click Net'neighborhood. Click properties. Check components. If File, Printer Sharing for MS Networks isn't installed, Click "add", "service" and add it. Restart.
