Shared data server+2 Domains

By meldrew ·
Looking for a bit of advice please ..

I have 2 separate 2003 servers (DCs)on 2 (small) separate networks in the same building, but sharing an ADSL internet connections (via extra NICs and a switch/NAT etc.

I now want to put an extra data server on line which can be accessed from either network but still keep the networks separate.

Any ideas on the simplest way

Thanks in advance

Do you want Domain security and authentication? Then you will have to look into trusts.

If not, put two nics in it. Connect to both networks and use as a stand-alone peer-to-peer server. It won't be very secure unless you add username/passwords (adding another authentication for your users to remember), but it will make data available on both networks. This wouldn't work for a NAS device with one NIC and no room for expansion. But in the case of a NAS, many have share capabilities that are html or ftp based and are network independent.

Sounds like a small NAS appliance from Western Digital or Seagate would work for you as The other poster said. They have sizes from 320 Gig down. Here's a link fro it on a review from X-bit labs.
