shared directories

By TABComputers2002 ·
I have a W2K box that I have 3 directories shared. My documents, My Files and My Download Files. The first 2 are fine and all folders under them show fine. The Download directory never seems to want to be seen properly. It's setup the same as the other shares.

Is there someplace in windows that would show what's shared and all the properties/permissions? Other than thru explorer? I ask, because there is a share labeled "E" that I can see and access from a 98 box that I can't find on the W2K box. Any ideas?

One easy way to see what shares exist on a W2K box is using Computer Management. Right-click on My COmputer, and Choose Manage. Open the Shared Folders node on the left, and choose Shares. This will show you what shares exist on that machine, and there the folders are physically located. You can then right-click on any share listed and view the Properties, which include permissions.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. I found out that the "E" share was a cd rom. Unfortunatly, my "My downloaded file" share is a no show on the 98 machine. It must be something with 98, because I can access it from my XP laptop.
