Shared local printers over Remote Desktop

Good afternoon. the quick and dirty of it is we have users remoting into a server to use a piece of software (Viewpoint if you're familiar with it). They have local shared printers that we connect to from the server to allow printing. (Run \\computername\ > right click printer > connect) Lately we've had a couple users who are getting a message telling them they don't have sufficient security privileges. This only happens on some users, not others. I took one, and, just to get it to connect, gave them full domain admin, local admin to both the server and their computer, and still, nothing. usually I can think my way through these things, but this just isn't making any sense to me at all. Thank you in advance for your help.

Try using remote desktop to connect the printers

instead of as a server share. (options, local resources, printers).
Also can try removing the share, reinstall the printer and recreate the printer share. MS shares sometimes just gank up =\

Have you tried to reload "viewpoint"...

Re-Load Viewpoint and test it out to see if it works correctly. Might just be a bug issue.

What is the OS and SP of the server? What is the OS and SP of the clients? Is there a difference in driver versions from the working clients compared to the non working clients?
