I have a usb printer connected to my machine which is shared on the network. The OS is XP Pro.
The shared printer has dissapeared from the directory.
I recently unistalled various software from my machine including some software called Desktop Aurthority which uses SQL.
I beleive the uninstallation of this software has maybe modified the policies on the machine.
I have tried fully reinstalling printer/software, checked it is shared etc. I have also used chkdsk /r to repair the o/s with no luck. I have performed a system restore to before the uninstallation of the software with no luck. This restore has caused a number of problems including not being able to search for printers anymore. I have also played around with the local printer policies without luck.
Is there any way of reseting the XP Pro printer policies back to default?
Can anyone shed any light on this problem?
